SHINE is a charity fashion event sponsored by Oryx Tempel of International House Of Style in conjunction with Metro Models, to benefit Medicines Sans Frontiers/Doctors Without Borders.

"Shine" Doctors without Borders Event in SL

What are the holidays and what do they mean to you? besides good food, presents and all the other trimmings? simple answer really, it is the need to open your hearts and give to those who don't have the essentials for a quality life. Recently I was asked by my good friend Oryx Tempel of International House Of Style if I would be interested in participating in an event called "Shine". To be honest I haven't really been involved in charities as not knowing where or how the proceeds where heading and who actually benefitted through them, I did research.

Shine is an organization that helps Doctors without borders. Expediting much needed medics and medicines to those in the poorest of countries and or are victims of natural disasters such as floods in Haite which has left its children starving to death. These are images that gripped my heart and telling me damn! I can make a difference even if small.
So for this years "Shine" theme which is "Peace" I have created a one of a kind collection of fine prim snowflake jewels to fit within the theme. Snowflakes? you bet ;) what is more peaceful than snow falling quietly and effortlessly? is their anything more quiet than everything coming to a standstill so as you don't hear a sound? to be surrounded in nature that is slowly being blanketed by the crisp cold snow? each snowflake that falls is a different gem. There are no 2 flakes alike. Each rare and glorious as the next. It is my hope that these precious children and their frightened parents shall find some kind of peace in their life.

The Winter Rose Collection is one of a kind. Like the flakes the fall to earth. There will never be another sold. It is to be put up for auction at the Shine Event in Second Life. This formal jewel collection includes a gorgeous platinum tiara, 2 armlets for past the elbow evening gloves and a beautiful necklace. You will never see metal textures twinkle and shine the way these do. I spent alot of time to perfect these jewels for this event. New Jewel Collections 11/1 - 11/08 2008

As ususal I have been very busy in SL creating new jewelry! 4 new collections of outstanding fine delicate prim work. Just arrived in time for holiday season 2008 Ancient Egyptian scarab collection featuring 3 diferent scarabs worked into armlets, anklets, head band/tiara, bangles and choker. This set comes in a beautiful full prim Scarab jewel case for elegant and unique gifting. Second up is Australian Dragonfly Collection featuring exquisite prim dragonflys set amid shimmering gold and platinum with fully faceted ruby drops. The pieces to this set includes Bindi/forehead jewel, a gorgeous shimmery necklace that twinkles in the light without bling, 2 stunning armlets w/2 matching anklets, a very sexy dragonfly belly jewel all prim, earrings in the chandelier style and foot jewels with toe rings. Next we go to Greece for the Aegean Sea Collection of bright and beautiful african Shattucky set in finely detailed gold cabachons. Lastly Art Deco Collection from the smooth days of jazz in the speakeasys that the divas of jazz adorned themselves with to the famous 1920's flapper and can can girls. Poddy's Mystical Fairy Forest

Poddy's Mystical Fairy Forest is a place one can only dream about. Built By Poddy Collins, it exists in the virtual world of SecondLife. It is a land of surreal and enchanted beauty that is home to the many fairy's that inhabit the land as well as the Mermaids that live below in the rich blue underwater caverns. Wherever you look there is beauty. Poddy is a delightfully warm and caring person who is so much fun to be around and her bubbly peronality is contagious. All who know Poddy loves her dearly. She created this ethereal sim for others to enjoy. Poddy offers horseback ring, hang gliding, fishing, relaxing grottos for her fairys as well as ubder the sea mermaid ballroom Egyptian style! She also offers pristine beaches with a huge King Kong lol - most of all Poddy offers you her friendship. High in the sky, you will find loads of shops with high quality goods. Isle Of Cheswick Victorian Themed Sim

Isle Of Cheswick is a beautiful sim in the virtual world of SecondLife. The owners of this exquisite sim are Bracken Back And Samaria Arai. Together they built a Victorian themed sim complete with impeccable and colorful "Painted Ladies" in painted ladies I mean those beautiful Victorian homes with glorious color schemes that delight the eye. Step back into time and come visit this sim. Bracken builds the builds the homes with authentic textures of the period as well as the rich woods that panel the walls. The detailing of his homes are not only remarkable but are to be commended. The furnitures, chandeliers, fireplaces just incredible. His wife Samaria is also a very talented designer in her own right. Just recently samaria created a gorgeous Victorian stove that blew my mind when I saw it! She also built beautiful stables with horse jumps that actually fall when kicked with the hooves. Click the bottom bar and they go back into place!
Isle Of Cheswick has so much to offer its visitors from pristine waters with a windmill to fishing, shopping and horseback riding. Of course you need to have a SecondLife account to be able to visit there but I can assure you it will be one visit you will remember. Say hello to Bracken and Samaria and tell them Kia sent you! International House Of Style is one of a kind! Created prim confections of clothing from around the world make this a unique and gracious shopping experience. All of the designs created by none other than Oryx Tempel are most authentic and beautifully done. Her textures and style are outstanding!
International House Of Style is more than just shopping for clothing, it is also a museum of the vast styles that bring the world together. Her creations are perfectly done and her clientel enormous.
If you are in this virtual world of Secondlife I ask you to go and see what this talented woman has brought to life. You will find styles from Asia, India, Iran, Africa, Indonesia, Israel, Alaska, Native America and the list just goes on! you have to see it to believe it.
I also have the pleasure of working with Oryx Tempel and through her encouragement began my own journey of the world in creating fine prim jewelry to compliment her clothing creations. Oryx is always looking to hear what others would like to see and have. I own so many of her creations to enhance my own wardrobe in world. Her Saris just seem to flow like liquid about you and are the most exquisite i have had the pleasure to wear. Amatsu Mitsukai & Amari Gable

What Is Amatsu Mitsukai? It is a gorgous and well planned Sim in Second Life's Virtual world of shopping and quite a unique experience! I am most fortunate to know this top quality designer and have the priviledge of calling this gentle woman my best friend. Amari and her designs are truly exquisite! She is the owner of Second Life's largest inworld collar gallery. What sets her work above and beyond is the fact that she is a texture artist of the highest quality seamless textures, textures that go from exquisite fabric to the highest quality precious metals. On her sim you will find impeccable slave silks that flow like very fine gossamer and so light they dance in the breeze., Collars that are scripted and color changing so you can match them to what you are wearing or perhaps what suits you. Exquisite and fine japanese hair she creates and hand paints to perfection as well as fine japanese Kimonos for men and women. Wait! it doesn't end there! Take a peek at her formals and take note of her gowns, there are those in world that consistently brag they are the best but I have to disagree on that one ;) My thought is Amari Gable creates the very best. She takes time and knows exactly what a woman wants. Her fine eye for detail is most amazing. Did I mention she also creates top of the line jewelry? or high quality shoes that you can actually hear when you walk that sexy walk? or her fine prim furniture? or her architectural abilities? Ripon "Color The Skies" Festival 2008

Ripon CA "Color The Skies" festival is on this labor day weekend. It is a fundraising charity for the childrens hospital and is in it's 3rd year! Balloon pilots from all over come to fly this event which raises money for needy sick children who fight everyday just to survive. This morning we were up at 3am just to attend as my husband is a hot air balloon pilot. There is much to do there for all ages. Even tethered balloon rides for kids! This photo was taken by Ray Nipper who happened on the scene and took some lovely shots of my husband in his balloon :) This years theme is "Rise, Shine, Give" so if you are in the area of Ripon and are a hot air enthusiast, then please come by and see the balloons and know everyone involved put their hearts into this grand event for these children :)

Worldly Treasures Fine Prim Jewelry

I am Kia Greyskin and design virtual prim jewelry in the world of Second Life. This has become a great hobby of mine and one I find I am very good at :). What is a prim jeweler? I take prim shapes and torture them into pieces I deem fit for making jewelry out of. While I am not good at making textures I buy them and add them to the prims such as precious metals and gems. I create fine jewelry from around the world and have a flair for the most exotic and erotic.
